Collecting EEO Data

The collection of EEO data from applicants is required of employers who are Federal Contractors, or participate in Mandatory or Voluntary Affirmative Action Plans. Otherwise this information is typically only asked of employees.

If you do collect this information in TAM it is handled in a confidential manner and will not appear on the applicant's page. The information can only be accessed by an administrator running an EEO report.

To determine if you are a federal contractor: Federal Contractor Compliance Advisor

For more information about the Internet Applicant final rule, issued by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs or the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures, go here.

EEO data is enabled under Setup, EEO/Disability/VETS, and can only be accessed by a TAM user with administrator access.  Simply check the box to turn on this feature.  You will also want to enter a message informing the applicants why you are collecting this information.

You may chose to collect this data only for designated positions.  For example, if you have offices outside the US and recruit for positions in those offices, you can check the first box.  You will then need to turn EEO data collection on by each individual position when creating or editing that position.  With this box unchecked all applicants for all positions will be given the opportunity to voluntarily provide this data.

Once this feature is enabled all applicants will be asked to voluntarily provide race, ethnicity and gender information when applying for an open position.  This form will appear after the pre-screening form or after the employment application, depending on your employment application settings.

You can also manually request that an applicant in TAM complete the EEO form if they have not previously completed it. On an applicant's page just look for the EEO icon.

Clicking on this icon will bring up the email page, allowing you to send a request to the applicant to complete the EEO form.
