Posting to Career Builder

To setup TAM to push your positions to Career Builder, you should first obtain a "production VendorID" from your Career Builder account rep.  This is separate from your account number and should look something like:  ED3F1J76QF1MSV2G410X.  Let them know that you want to set up an integration with The Applicant Manager.

Once you obtain this ID you can complete your Career Builder integration in TAM under Setup, Job Boards.

  1. Ensure the "Ask me every time I open a new position whether or not to post it to Career Builder" radio button is enabled.

  2. Place your VendorID into the "Production VendorId" field.

  3. Choose which industry(s) you want your positions listed under.  Click on the link provided to go to the CB website which lists the industries they display.  Choose from 1 to 5 and enter those codes in the box, separated by commas.

NOTE: Occasionally the list of supported industries changes but Career Builder does not immediately update their website. If this happens you may get an email response back from TAM when it attempts to post your job. The message will read something like: "Posting failed: IND076 is not in the list of values for Industries." You would then need to remove that industry from your TAM setup and attempt posting the position again.

  4. Select Save at the bottom of the page.

You will now have the option every time you create a new position to have TAM automatically post it to Career Builder.  At the bottom of the Create Position page simply click on "Post this position to Career Builder" and fill in the required information.

When you Open & Post this position it will be sent to Career Builder (CB). It may take up to an hour to be processed and posted on the CB site. This position will be posted by CB for 30 days or until you fill/close the position in TAM. You may put this position on hold and then reopen it any time during those 30 days without incurring additional charges from CB. If you open this position after the 30 day period CB will charge you for an additional posting.

You will be charged directly by Career Builder for this posting at your company rate. TAM is not part of the billing process, it simply sends the posting to CB for you.
