Assigning or changing an applicant's status (Workflow step)
Your company will use one or more recruiting workflows as defined by your administrator. Workflows are simply the steps each applicant is assigned to as they move through the recruiting process, and an applicant can be passed or failed at any step. Example workflow:
Each applicant's status will be displayed in the Applicants' Table. If desired, you can pass or fail an applicant using the green "Thumbs Up" or the red "Thumbs Down" or "Thumbs Down +" on this table. Failing the applicant will change their status to "Failed at [Workflow Step]" and move them to the Inactive applicant pool. Inactive applicants are not displayed on this table unless you specifically load them, using the link at the top left corner of the table.
Note: Columns in your Applicant table can be reordered by clicking and dragging the column heading left or right. Columns can be made hidden or visible using the "gear" icon at the top-center of the table.
In most cases, Users will change an applicant's status on their individual applicant page when you're reviewing their information. It is a strongly recommended best practice to advance applicants through your Workflow steps, one by one, by clicking the green "Thumbs Up" icon.
Your complete options include:
- Pass them at their current status to the next Workflow step.
- Fail them at their current status without providing a reason for rejecting them.
- Fail them at their current status and enter a reason for rejecting them.
- Only when necessary, certain User levels can move them to any Workflow step by selecting that step from the dropdown menu. (This is usually reserved for correcting mistakes, or for bypassing contingent Workflow steps, when that step wasn't actually executed. ex. 2nd In-person Interview (only if necessary))
