Spark Hire Video Interviews

TAM is tightly integrated with Spark Hire, a video interviewing platform, to allow you to better qualify applicants for customer-facing or remote positions. Interviews can be either two-way or conducted one-way, where the applicant answers a set of pre-determined questions. Video Interviews can be managed from the applicant's page in TAM, with the final videos viewable from TAM.

For more info on Spark Hire click here to redirect to the Spark Hire website.  Click here to see how Spark Hire integrates with TAM.

To begin you must first setup a Spark Hire account for each TAM user who will be initiating video interviews. Once this is done obtain the API key from Spark Hire for those users. To do this, in your Spark Hire account, click on your initials in the upper right portion of the page, then Settings, then Integrations, then the Integrate button under The Applicant Manager. Then copy your integration key.

STEP 1: In TAM go to Setup -> Integrations, and click on the Configuration button for Spark Hire.

1) Enter the Spark Hire API key for each user who will be allowed to request video interviews.

2) You have three options as to which applicants will complete video interviews and when. You can 1) not require any applicants to complete an interview when applying. In this case you can manually request an interview from any applicant's page, or use TAM's Triggers to automatically send out requests based on workflow steps; 2) require all applicants for all positions to complete a video interview when applying, or 3) require all applicants for only some positions to complete a video interview when applying. This is a company-wide setting.

3) If you'll always be doing one-way interviews check here and TAM will default to that action. Otherwise TAM will ask whether you want a one-way or two-way interview each time you request one. If you're requiring applicants to complete an interview when applying they will always be one-way.

4) Enter the number of days the applicant is allowed to complete the interview. Once this limit is reached the applicant will be locked out of the interview and TAM will mark their status as "InterviewExpired". You can always initiate a second interview if needed.

Hit Save to save any changes to this configuration.

STEP 2: Create your interview questions

To create your list of questions for one-way interviews, use the TAM pre-screening form. Use the Information questions section to enter your questions. All other sections of the pre-screening form are ignored for this purpose.

Then simply check off the Spark Hire box on the Create/Edit Position page and select the appropriate form.

If you are requiring applicants to complete an interview when applying they will be notified by email once they have completed all other application requirements (pre-screening form, employment application if used, EEO data if used, etc.).

To manually request a video interview simply go to the applicant's page and click on the Spark Hire icon. The applicant will be notified by email.

You will be able to track any outstanding interviews from the Pending Items table on your Desktop. Once the applicant has completed the interview you will be notified by email and you will be able to access the completed interview on the applicant's page.

You can also use TAM's Trigger feature to automatically send requests for video interviews when applicants reach a selected workflow step. This may be preferable to requiring all applicants to complete an interview when applying, as you will certainly lose some percentage of applicants by that method.

For example, you may create a workflow which includes a step "Send Video Interview" and apply that workflow to positions which require video interviews. Then to automatically send out video interview requests for each applicant which reaches that step, go to Setup -> Triggers.

Spark Hire offers three plans, which allow 1 job, 5 jobs, or unlimited jobs, respectively. This is the maximum number of positions which you can use with Spark Hire at the same time. In order to use another position you will need to close a position in TAM first, to bring you down to your plan limit. TAM does not monitor your Spark Hire account so it does not know what plan you're on. Therefore if you're on a 1 or 5 job plan you need to monitor which jobs have Spark Hire interviews enabled. You can do this on the Positions Table by enabling the Spark Hire column, which will show an 'X' for enabled jobs.
